Nasty political campaign

There are so many articles about polarised American polity and how that divide the nation etc. I was reading a article on nasty political campaigns in today's newspaper and found the photo of a phamplet used against Lincoln in his reelection bit. I don't believe the current divide is no where near the venomous campaigns of the earlier generations. Here is the phamplet titled Miscegenation. I wanted to write so much but just logging this phamplet would convey what I really wanted to say...

Clinton Assault

I have a special place for Clinton even after Monica's "Got Milk" episodes. May be due to the fact I entered US as alien in his period . I happen to see leadership charisma naturally fit a person in a very few cases and Clinton is one of them. Even if the below event is staged with Bush ( Fox could very well do that), he cant stand up to knee height of Clinton in his measured attack with such a mental clarity and controling the situation with aplomb. Way to go Clinton!!!!

Enjoy

V for Vedetta - A review

V for Vendetta - A review

Yet another Orwellian "period" movie. A totalitarian govt. In the name of accessing power, fear is stoked up and to manipulate that fear, the govt commits mistake after mistake. It even kills its own people and puts the blame on "different" people. It curtails freedom , control the TV/media and use the TV media to spin the news yada yada yada..

A man rises from fire (literally) and he removes the entire corrupt power single handedly and symbolically blows up old govt building to bring the people out of their homes to start "owning" their govts.

Looks like a pedestrian stuff huh?

Unfortunately this movie made me to watch all the two hours completely,.My brain function stopped to think independently instead simply followed with the flow of the movie wherever it went. I have to blame the current political climate, eeeringly similar characters in the political sphere and eeringly similar media setup in US and on top it eeeringly similar general population who just sits in front of TV
or sports bar TV or in hospital, waiting for some super hero to do some clean up job so that they can come out of their cozy homes, with mask, nevertheless.

If at all this movie did anything it made to do some retrospection.

oh yes this movie had Natalia Portman too. With shaved head and yes they showed shots with her hair getting shaved.

Cute actresses (or actors) getting plum characters that offers them chance to disfigure themselves that sometime confuses whether the emotions the audience feeling is due to their histrionic talents or due to the sympathy out of their
characters.

This movie lacked lot of needed details and instead just tried to capitalize on the general mood of the time without offering no real approach to presented problem. I was surprised to see the Matrix brothers nam in the scrolling name list at the end. Matrix sequels was not enough for them ? Does hollywood devoid of any creative ideas?

Thanks to VforVedetta.com for the above pictures
